Designed by popular demand, we launched our 53.5 and 58mm puck diffuser screen to enhance coffee extraction.

The use of a puck screen increases your brewing times by slowing the diffusion of water throughout your coffee puck.

If you find yourself wanting to dose less in your coffee filter basket, you can use a puck screen to decrease the headroom inside the puck, so you don't end up with a muddy puck. You can also use the puck screen to increase the pressure inside the puck for a slower extraction that will increase your extraction yield.

Developed in two sizes, our 58.5mm & 53.5mm for all the Breville/Sage customers, our puck screen will surely change the taste of your coffee - for good.

How To Use the Puck Diffuser Screen

After tamping your coffee grounds, simply place the coffee puck diffuser screen on top of your coffee puck before inserting the portafilter into the coffee machine.

A coffee puck screen is an espresso metal filter or mesh that sits directly on top of your tamped coffee. The purpose of an espresso puck screen is to prevent channelling in the puck by distributing pressure across the entire surface. 

Since the Pesado puck diffuser screen is 1.8mm thick, we recommend dosing less coffee as the coffee will expand and the puck screen might bend or hit the shower screen. Simply place the coffee puck diffuser screen on top of your coffee puck before inserting the portafilter into the machine to pour.

How do I clean the coffee puck diffuser screen?

Simply rinse the puck diffuser screen after every use and when it needs a more thorough clean, soak it in cafetto or use a steam wand to clean it.
