We have developed these high-extraction 54mm Breville baskets to perform with coffee that is usually lighter in roast profile, and has more subtle tasting notes. Coffees with more intense flavour will result in a fuller experience without compromising the balance of the drink.
With its unique design, it extracts significantly more dissolved materials from your beans, thanks to the technology applied to perforate the bottom of the 54mm basket.

High Extraction He[%] 54mm Breville Filter Basket - Dosing 18g-22g
$71.50
Precision Build
These 54mm high extraction Breville filter baskets are developed in 1.1mm stainless steel, CNC finished with laser cut holes at the bottom that expands in circles all the way to the outer edge of the bottom surface.
Durable Build – Made from 1.1 mm stainless steel for strength and longevity.
Precision Engineered – CNC finished for consistent shape and accuracy.
Full-Coverage Flow – Laser-cut holes expand to the edge for even extractions.
High Extraction
The added thickness improves the rigidity of the puck during extraction by not allowing the bottom face to bow outwards and the laser-cut holes are extremely accurate and allow for a higher open surface area that offers less resistance to the water flow during the extraction.
Strong, Full Flavoured Coffee
We believe He[%] 54mm Breville Filter Baskets will allow you to experience a more consistent extraction as well as an increased amount of total dissolved solids in your shot (higher yield), as you will be able to grind finer for the same extraction flow. After comparing a large number of espresso shots with fixed variables we can confidently say that these 54mm baskets will enhance your coffee experience for both black shoots and milk-based beverages where the coffees are light in roast profile and flavour notes are more subtle .

FAQs on High Extraction 54mm Breville Filter Baskets
The High Extraction [%] Breville filter basket is produced using CNC machining and laser cut hole technology, VST or IMS baskets are a pressed product, and both hole and shape are created by press and polish machines.
Our He[%] 54mm Breville Filter Basket uses 1.1mm thick steel, while IMS/VST uses a thinner layer of steel and the top diameter is different from the bottom diameter.
Our He[%] 54mm Breville Filter Basket has an overall more significant amount of holes and open surface area compared to IMS and VST. The laser technology allows the holes of HE to be closer to the edges
Compatible with Pesado 54mm portafilters and some aftermarket bottomless/naked portafilters.
*For Breville 54mm, please be aware fit will be tight, this basket has been tested and will not damage your machine grouphead
Rule of thumb.
If it fits in your portafilter, it will fit in your machine.
Due to having a thickness of 1.1mm some may find it fits tightly on their coffee machine, but do not be discouraged - our filter basket design will keep your group seal lasting longer due to its rigid/flat structure.
Like any other espresso accessories soak in caffetto.
You can use a group brush or a needle to remove any stubborn residues.

Aloha from Hawaii,
All my Pesado products are well built, superbly engineered and built to last. My coffee quality has leveled up thanks to my new shower screen, basket and with style from the hybrid portafilter.
Hands down the best!
Matt
I received the wrong item. Got the high diffusion shower screen instead of the basket. This actually also happened the first time I tried to order the basket as well…
Bought the HD screen and HE basket. Have a niche zero and bambino and was never able to dial in the grind size correctly - even the finest changes put me either too fine or too coarse with this basket. Previously using a cheap basket from amazon that works amazingly with consistently great extractions and good amount of crema. With this HE basket it was very inconsistent with obvious channelling, less full shots and a worse tasting espresso. The holes get clogged up easily which may or may not affect back to back shots im not sure. HD screen seems to work well with the amazon basket though.
Another side-effect was that the portafilter loosened itself during shots which led to it flying off from the coffee machine mid shot - not a problem i've had previously! (see photo)
Im sure with more tinkering i couldve got it to an acceptable standard but was just too much fuss for a worse shot... will return the HE basket (if possible) but keep the HD screen
I used this in combination with the Diffusion HD 54 mm plate. The basket was not a good fit with my crema protafilter. I decided to buy the hybrid portafilter which is also a lovely product. The basket was a very tight fit with the pesado portafilter. I think the spring might need to be a bit thinner for easy of removing the basket.
BUT when I did get it to work, the flow was immaculate. There was no splatter.
Filter basket looks amazing! Love the look and design. As to performance of it, it works as it should. You get various channeling due to the amount of holes and coverage. Feel as because of this you get less crema when making your espresso. You also get pieces of espresso caught in between the holes that clogs it. And it’s a pain to get out when you don’t have a manual steamer like most premium espresso machines.
Comparable to a higher end unit I’ve recently used at a friends house. Not going to drop names but it rhymes with “La Marco”. The performance is truly night and day. This even allows me to grind finer on my Baratza ESP
I bought the HE basket by watching pesado’s instgram stories on how nice and easy it is to upgrade to HE. Unfortunately it’s false advertising. I tried watching all you tube videos of how to dial my espresso and through many trials and errors still not happy with the results. I contacted customer service they responded, but never responded to my email when I wanted to return my products. Only one product that works is the mirror. Poor customer service. I still want to return my product.
So glad to finally see some good selections of baskets available in 54mm
Pulling better and more consistent shots now. Has got me experimenting with lighter roast levels than before.
I'm using the original breville bambino plus porterfilter with the bottom cut off. I also had to hone it out a little bit but all good now.
Beautiful extraction ... from a little 1600 W, 15 bar vibrating-pump Breville Dual-Temp Pro!
The new 54 mm Pesado basket is deep, allowing a 21 gram dose ( up from Breville's standard 18.5 g ).
The Pesado has many more fine holes; resulting in such a rich, crema-laden pull! Extremely happy with the purchase; a highly recommended upgrade to any Breville 54 mm system. — Stephen, Taupo, NZ
The basket truly does not fit my Breville portafilter. The retaining clip in the port filter keeps the basket form seating properly, keeps the dosing funnel from atttaching properly and to date, I cannot get enough pressure to actually pull a shot.
I removed the spring clip and used the filter without that, which allowed for easy fit, however, it did not allow better seal or pressure development.
Disappointed and I left a message asking for information on use.
My shot pulls were very inconsistent and tasted bad after a while with the original. After getting this, my shot pulls are amazing and taste great! Well worth it and easy isntall.
This indeed is a must have upgrade.. pulls a better shot and brings out that complexity flavor profile in the beans.. Your machine need recalibrate to use this backet.
It was so hard to get to fit and to remove it, the machine didn't seem to be able to work with it, and I couldn't calibrate it no matter what grind level or pour length I tried or it recommended. I followed all the instructions from both Pesado and Breville and could not make it work. So disappointed, do not recommend
Doesn't fit a portafilter of the same size. Thought it was just a "tight fit" at first but it is just too big. Now, it wallered out the hole and the other baskets are loose.
54mm Breville Filter Basket is really tight I am unable to pull apart. Customer service was patient with me and answered my questions. Basket is not flush with the portafilter
The filter is great but it pours way too fast. I’d suggest filling the basket with 21g vs 18g. Then have a finer grind than normal to control the pour. The material is very good.
I guess I missed that it isn't compatible with the breville Portafilter, and Pesado is out of stock on the breville 54's, so this is now a very expensive useless espresso filter.
