Overview

The Wooden WDT Clump Crusher Tool brings together both function and character in one espresso-prep essential. Built to industry standards with a removable wooden leva end, this tool allows you to break up clumps, fluff the puck, and even out density, all before tamping.

With 45mm long, 0.3mm thick needles in an 8-needle setup, it reaches into the depth of the puck without over-disturbing the structure.

The wooden leva end adds warm visual appeal, creating a distinctive contrast to stainless metallic-finish tools while still delivering the high precision expected of Pesado.

It’s more than a tool, it’s an expression of style built for flavour.

Performance-Balanced For Better Tamping Control

The modular handle is weighted and shaped to give you a naturally stable grip and neutral wrist position while tamping and locking in the portafilter. The balance point is designed to sit closer to the basket, so you get more control over angle and pressure and less strain during repeated locking in for a service environment.

Customisable Aesthetics For Any Bar Setup

With multiple colourways and end styles (metallic, timber, and resin), the modular system lets you match your handle to your machine, café branding, or home bar. You can swap ends to refresh the look over time without replacing the entire portafilter, keeping your setup visually sharp and consistent.

Built For Daily Service: Heat & Moisture Resistant

The POM body, stainless-steel ends, and sealed timber/resin inserts are all chosen to withstand daily exposure to heat, steam, and moisture. The result is a handle that feels premium in the hand but is tough enough for commercial workflows and long-term home use.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Modular Portafilter Handles

This product is for the modular handle only and is designed to fit Pesado portafilter heads. If you need a complete portafilter (head + handle), please see our dedicated portafilter listings.

The modular handle is designed specifically for Pesado portafilters and uses the same threaded connection. It is not guaranteed to fit stock or third-party portafilters, even if they are 58 mm or E61 compatible.

Simply unscrew your existing Pesado handle from the portafilter head and screw the new modular handle on by hand until it is snug. There’s no special tool required — just ensure it is firmly tightened and aligned before use.

Yes. The birch timber ends are vacuum-dyed and coated in a heat- and water-resistant wax, and the Dusk/Haze resin ends are set in an aluminium honeycomb. As with any premium handle, avoid soaking and instead wipe clean with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.

Changing the handle doesn’t alter water flow or basket performance, but the weight and balance can improve how the portafilter feels in your hand. A more stable, comfortable grip can make it easier to tamp level and work consistently shot after shot.
